There is no greater Mitzvah than Pidyon Shvuyim

It’s unbelievable

It sounds like a tragic story from centuries ago; it is almost impossible to fathom that in today’s modern world, such a heartbreaking situation could still unfold. Yet unfortunately, this is a stark, painful reality taking place now, right here in New York.

Without going into every complicated and painful detail of this devastating saga, here is a brief look at what is happening behind the scenes—and how it is crushing a fine, cherished yungerman and his respected family.

Chaim was a gentle, respected father, working hard to earn an honest living. Then, due to unforeseen circumstances, he suddenly found himself deeply entangled in a severe, unwanted ordeal. Now, a devastating court sentence of long years languishing in prison hangs over him, threatening to shatter his young wife and innocent children.

Yes! There is Hope!

As soon as the details reached our dedicated askanim, they threw themselves into the case with heart and soul. Countless emergency meetings were held between the askanim and the top legal experts. After tireless work, a strategic legal plan was developed—one that can, with Hashem’s help, clear this yungerman’s name, remove the heavy decree hanging over him, and save him and his entire family.

A Call from the Rabbonim and Askanim

The entire case is being closely guided and directed by leading Rabbonim, who are deeply involved in every detail of the situation, along with the close involvement of premier experts and askanim in the realm of Pidyon Shvuyim—led by the holy Tzedek organization, which has personally endorsed this effort.

At the forefront stands a warm letter of endorsement and support written by the renowned Gaon, Rabbi Eli Tzvi Spitzer, Shlit”a, Rav of Ohr Chaim in Boro Park. Additionally, a detailed legal overview has been provided by top defense attorney Susan Necheles, emphasizing the critical importance and urgency of this campaign. And endorsed by Rabbi Yosef Dovid Gold Shlit”a

Klal Yisroel Rallies to Save a Brother

Klal Yisroel is gearing up for a massive campaign—a true testament to the beauty and compassion of the Am HaChesed, who will step up with heart and soul to rescue a brother in distress.

While prosecutors involved in the case are determined to see him sentenced to years behind bars, Klal Yisroel—bound by deep unity and devotion—is standing up with one goal: to see him completely cleared and freed from all charges as quickly as possible.

Before you enter.

Do I see the price before I pay?

No. You agree to pay before your ticket is drawn, with a maximum charge of $500. Your ticket number is your price: ticket #251 costs $251. You cannot draw again to get a different price.

How is my ticket number chosen?

The numbers and prices were fixed before sales opened. Our server draws one ticket at random from the tickets nobody has yet — you don’t choose it, and neither does the organizer. The rolling digits on screen are only the reveal; your ticket is already drawn when they start.

Why might my bank show a temporary hold?

Your card is authorized for $500 first, and only your ticket’s price is charged. The unused part of the hold is released right away; how quickly it disappears from your statement is up to your bank.

Can I pay with a charity card?

Yes. Your card is checked first, your ticket is drawn the same way, and the card is then charged your ticket’s price. If that charge doesn’t go through, your number stays reserved for you for 24 hours so you can pay for it.

Does my ticket number tell me if I won?

No. Checkout confirms your ticket in the drawing. The winner is drawn separately, and the organizer announces the result and contacts the winner directly.

Can I enter more than once?

Each checkout is one ticket, and you can come back and enter again while tickets last. Every ticket is a separate number in the drawing.

Is my entry tax-deductible?

An entry is a raffle ticket purchase and may not be tax-deductible. Yad Velev’s Tax ID is 86-1741635. For anything specific to your situation, ask your tax adviser or contact the organizer.
